28 Sep 2020 "NEW ENERGY MIX" - PUBLIC DIALOGUE ON THE TRANSITION TO A LOW CARBON ECONOMY IN THE STARA ZAGORA DISTRICT.

On September 28, 2020, the Regional Economic Development Agency StaraZagora (DeCarb project funded by Interreg Europe) in cooperation with the Black Sea Energy Research Center (TRACER project, funded by Horizon 2020) and David Holding Inc. (GreenDC project, funded by Horizon 2020) organized a "NEW ENERGY MIX" - PUBLIC DIALOGUE FOR THE TRANSITION TO A LOW CARBON ECONOMY IN STARA ZAGORA.
 
The event was divided into 4 panels, each dedicated to a different topic related to the transition to a low-carbon economy.
 
1. Economic alternatives following the phasing out of coal in coal intensive partners' regions
2. Expected socio-economic impact of the phasing out of coal-intensive economy sectors
3. Need for land reclamation/restoration after coal mining and possible land use after cessation of coal mining.
4. "New energy mix"
 
Among the panelists, we had the pleasure to meet in Stara Zagora European and national experts, representatives of national and international organizations, science and business.
 
In order to reach a wider audience, the event was broadcast on the Facebook page of ARID Stara Zagora - Green Deal - https://www.facebook.com/arirstarazagoragreendeal. Discussion recordings are available for viewing and sharing.
 

For foreign partners and experts who were also interested in following the panel discussions online, ARIR - Stara Zagora provided English translation and was broadcasting the event through the Google Meet platform.

The event was attended by more than 60 participants on-site and reached more than 20 000 viewers online.
